Every single year is a tradition for every street in Iquitos to go get the highest palm tree from the jungle and bring it to the city to put it on the street with a bunch of gifts or presents like money, dishes diapers,etc and all of these are hanging on the tree. Then on Sunday afternoon the 15. People have like a little ritual where they dance around the tree with an axe that every round that they have one person cuts it until is about to fall down. Then after a few cuts the tree falls down and a bunch of people comes to get the stuffs on the tree. They fight for it. In one of pistures on top shows some people with masks. Thsese people dress up like this for midtnight. they go in every tree to dance for a few minutes and then they leave. it is a tradition to do it.
